# TraceRoot

> TraceRoot is an open-source AI agent improvement platform. Find the patterns in your agent's production issues. Ship verified fixes with your coding agent. It connects production traces, failure detection, improvement signals and verification through the TraceRoot CLI.

The workflow is trace → detect → signal → verify. Trace model and tool calls; use detectors to evaluate production behavior; group recurring findings into signals; investigate the evidence and make code changes with your coding agent; compare offline eval results to check the changes. New production traffic feeds the next cycle.

TraceRoot supports Python and JavaScript/TypeScript SDKs and OpenTelemetry-compatible tracing. Use TraceRoot Cloud or self-host with Docker.

The core platform is Apache-2.0 licensed. Code in directories named `ee` uses a separate Enterprise License. Billing, the built-in AI agent, and Signals are source-available under that license.

Install the CLI with `npm install -g traceroot-cli`, then run `traceroot login`. Check the CLI documentation and installed command help for current commands.

Use the current homepage and repository README for product positioning, the documentation for setup and API details, and the repository license files for licensing. Older descriptions centered on generating fix PRs may not reflect the current workflow. See the live homepage for pricing and current usage limits.
